A sturdy and important part of any ship, space or otherwise: a way to open and close bulkhead doors. These feature some mysterious knobs, a port of some sort, and a little atmospheric readout. The big red handle animates to open and close doors between different parts of the ship.
Ever since humans first started traveling into space, they used velcro to keep stuff pinned down and secure. It's cheap, versatile, and apparently attracts mold in the ISS like nobody's business! When most people think of space stations, they usually think of those glamour shots of earth seen through the windows, or spacewalks across pristine surfaces, but there's a surprising number of shitty-looking card tables with velcro strapped to them!
